Sullivan  is one of the leading law firms in corporate and international finance, trade, structured trade and commodity finance, electronic banking and digitizing trade finance.  Sullivan worked with the UK Law Commission on the Electronic Trade Documents Act that was enacted into legislation in September 2023 and functions as the legal framework for LEMI’s initial Market Infrastructure under English Law. Sullivan  also acts extensively for industry bodies including BAFT (the Bankers Association for Finance & Trade), ITFA (the International Trade and Forfaiting Association) and the ICC (the International Chamber of Commerce) on documentation and rules promulgated by them in trade finance .

 

Sullivan is the legal adviser to LEMI’s Market Infrastructure that offers safekeeping services for digital assets used in Lending and Trade Finance like electronic Promissory Notes or Bills of Exchange. Sullivan will be assisting LEMI and its partners and clients on the various emerging use cases leveraging the legal frameworks for digital assets as electronically transferable records (ETRs) subject to agreeing terms and usual legal checks.
